Hachuu Akemi
Well, that had been another day at the AMAKEN museum complex. To be honest, Akemi actually loved his job and the fact that this was in part in lieu of school since he was receiving educational credits for remaining here and learning on the job at the museum. The tour wasn't too bad today, and actually he had a few people asking some additional questions about astronomy.

That was certainly something that made him happy in its own right, but admittedly it wasn't the actual reason that he was so pleasant today. He had something else entirely to look forward to after work.

It wouldn't be too long until Akemi was done with the cleaning. He always took a few moments at the end of the day to sweep up the floor at the part of the museum he had been stationed in on that day irrespective of if he were required to. To be honest, he just felt it was a nice gesture.

"Ah, a member of such a limited species. You know if you were an electromagnetic wave-based organism you would have no need of primitive chores like sweeping up..."

With a deep sigh, Akemi rolled his eyes and ignored the taunt from his FM-ian familiar. Naturally he wasn't going to go around talking to what would appear like the air to most people, so he wasn't going to reply openly. Well, for that matter he had learned to not reply to them at all since it had this nasty tendency to just egg the aforementioned space lizard on.

It boiled down into that old discipline. No one had power over him, thought Akemi, if he did not permit him or her to do so. Eventually, though, even the seemingly emotionless museum docent put away his broom and rushed to put on his shoes with a large grin. Today was the day of the RC Pro-Am, and he wasn't going to miss that for the world. This was sort of the culmination of everything that he had been working for sometime - outside of his usual work that was.

Having gotten completely dressed with his shoes and jacket, Akemi finally pulled the ear buds out of his ears that he had been wearing while he was doing the cleaning. Ostensibly he wore these so that he could ignore Viper's aloof jabs, but to be completely honest it didn't work. He'd listen to his favorite dance music radio station with the receiver built into his Hunter-VG while working, but when your best friend and source of annoyance was from a planet called FM even that couldn't hope to completely drown him out...

"Where are you taking me?"

Akemi winced for a moment, "Taking you? You follow me around everywhere, remember?"

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean that I have to like what you humans get up to."

With a roll of his eyes, Akemi sighed for a moment. He knew all too well that this was a farce; Viper always had to make himself look as though he didn't care, even though it was only all too obvious that he actually had. "Well, for your information we're going somewhere with plenty of EM waves for you to go crawling all over."

That seemed to excite the usually dour Viper and soon Akemi found himself running back home as best as he could. It seemed that he often refused various forms of transportation beyond those provided by his own feet, perhaps as a result of the fact that he was concerned about his own physical fitness.

"Why don't you at least tell me what you've come here to get?"

Smiling a bit and naturally having removed his shoes and placed them into a locker before going any further, he made his way back up to his room to dig through some things. "Just wait a second, you'll see in a moment."

Eventually he was able to produce a remote controlled car, but it wasn't just any old remote control car. It appeared to be something like an early 20th century roadster, much like the sturdy crank-driven models that were popular well over a century ago. The miniature motor vehicle was carefully sculpted with a plastic fold down top that looked like it could have been a convertible had it been full sized and not powered by a rechargeable miniature electric battery.

Jutting out of the back end of the vehicle, past a modeled rumble seat was a spindle of wire that terminated in a plastic tip to avoid poking oneself. With a proud grin, Akemi turned back to where he assumed Viper was standing, "Well?"

"Well, what? It's a hunk of plastic."

"It's a model I built myself. Today's the RC Pro-Am Meet down at the Spica Mall. They're letting both professionals and amateurs race, and I've been building this model of an old roadster for months now."

Clearly unimpressed, or at least trying to seem so, Viper let loose a yawn before provisioning his reply, "...it's still made of plastic."

Irrespective of the way that the electromagnetic individual was behaving, Akemi maintained a proud grin and started out the house. Even though Viper hadn't exactly seemed thrilled, it was still very much of an act and he was happy to go anywhere that he was going to be able to move as freely about as Akemi claimed. Despite the fact that he didn't usually show it, he certainly did trust the aforementioned human.

Having checked the charge on the car and collected the vehicle and the aforementioned charger Akemi was once more putting on his shoes and rushing out the door - predictably followed by the electronic lizard that always followed him. Of course he was forced to ride the bus at this point, but Akemi's cheeriness wasn't going to be let down. It wasn't too far a ride from the apartment that his family had lived in, and the sight upon getting out was remarkable.

All around outside of the mall there were fellow remote control car enthusiasts. Most of them had flashy new model sports cars that were light-years away from what Akemi had built, which was one of the reasons he was so proud of his roadster. It looked different, even if the souped up electric motor inside was like a purring big cat ready to strike.

"Alright places everybody, places!" A shrill voice went over the public address system after an announcement screen popped up seemingly out of nowhere. The same announcement was echoed across Hunter-VG and Star Carrier units worn on wrists throughout the area. Looking down at his aforementioned wrist unit, he looked at the number and moved to walk over to the starting line.

"What's going on?"

"We're getting read to start the first heat, and if I keep talking to you I'll look like I'm mumbling to myself and people will think I'm loony!"

Smiling nervously, Akemi waved to a girl with a model grand tourer who had been staring at him. He tried to laugh and then started to swiftly move to the starting line as he laid down his vehicle.

Someone had forced another holographic pop up screen to appear in front of them as it had before, though this time it displayed a red light, which then flashed yellow and finally green. With a squeal and a few flip overs the cars lined up at Akemi's particular heat all started off, spinning their wheels and throwing little pieces of dust behind them.

With deft finger motions, Akemi maneuvered his car across the track, which had been laid out via glowing lines on the ground that were perhaps provided with the same holographic technology that provided the screens around here. While it was difficult work, he was keeping his vehicle inside of the lines as best as he could. That was, until, it seemed that it started to drive straight off the track.

"Ake-kun, just what the hell is going on around here?" Viper's retort came out as he tried each and every control on his remote. To his horror, he found that nothing was working. Soon his vehicle skirted straight off the track as a voice came over the intercom system:

"Hachuu Akemi has been disqualified from the first round for leaving the track!"

Pulling the goggles over his eyes that he was wearing over his head, he started to look around for a place that he would be able to transform and walk in the wave world. As soon as he could see Viper that aforementioned electromagnetic lizard knew what was going on. A virus had somehow gone into the antenna of his car and entered into it, running amuck across the open parking lot of the Spica Mall.

Fortunately, Akemi's goggles themselves wouldn't rise too much of a suspicion. Anyone who knew him knew that he was a fan of techno, so maybe it was just a fashion thing to them or perhaps he wore them, in the minds of the uninitiated, since they looked like driving goggles and they were at a race. Anyway, having found a place out of eyeshot and feeling himself richly bathed in powerful waves, he placed his wrist in front of his face as he felt the chilling embrace of his reptilian familiar.

"Storm into the skies upon a forked tongue, Hachuu Akemi...ON...THE...AIR!"

With a crackle he felt his entire body transported away from the physical world and into the ethereal wave one where he felt heavy armor covering his body and yet required little force to move it. This was not because of any special ability that this form granted him, but rather because objects made of waves seemed lighter to him. Now having transformed into Cold Blood, he searched around with a new confidence.

Locating the vehicle, he now saw an unusual being above his beloved miniature ride. "Viper! Do you recognize that fiend?"

The lizard-like familiar paused for a moment, perhaps taken aback by Cold Blood's tokusatsu-style theatrics. Eventually though he answered, "I don't, but it looks something like a Hot Roader - would make sense that a creature like that would be attracted to this scene."

Running toward the miniaturized vehicle, he looked forward and didn't quite recognize the aforementioned electromagnetic organism that seemed to be infecting his RC car. Regardless, he didn't recognize him immediately as a virus so Cold Blood gave him one opportunity to state his position. "Halt! You are in violation of..."

That being said he was never given the opportunity to finish considering that some sort of bolt landed at his feet. Giving a bit of what actually sounded like a hiss that matched his FM-ian consciousness, Viper's mentality seemed to take over and soon enough Cold Blood was running toward the other with the same skill that Akemi had shown in the Judo dojo only days before.

"Hiya!" With a forceful attack, the transformed warrior continued to go forward and assault the creature with attacks that would have been equally influential had they been in real life. Naturally each did only a small amount of damage, but together his feet and hands made effective weapons.

Spinning about afterward he grasped the other's head, or at least what he believed to be the head, underneath his arm and leaned forward so that his momentum would carry the being - focusing on technique more than the use of brute strength as his sensei had always trained him. Finally standing forward again he was able to watch as the aforementioned creature burst into various shards as though it were a gigantic crystal shattering into pieces.

A few more moments had past by and once more Hachuu Akemi found himself as a human followed around by a certain alien creature from another planet. Looking around his eyes were now soon huge and he got down on his knees in what seemed to be incredible grief.

"Ake-kun, I thought you had said that as much as it pained you to have to defend yourself and destroy something, you understood it was not out of aggression but instead out of a need to protect yourself."

"I do."

"Then why are you upset?"

"...remember that model I built?"

"Yeah?"

"...it's in a million pieces now."
