Amaya Hikage is Nautica
Topic Started: Jul 4 2016, 11:21 AM (264 Views)
Gaia
Human:
Name: Amaya Hikage
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Appearance: Amaya shares the most basic features of her lineage, sporting darkened skin and a fine bone structure. Still in the prime of her development, her face has somewhat rounded cheek bones with an imperceptible angle to her chin. She has long, thick, straight black hair that stops midway on her back.

She has a thin, delicate but prominent nose and other imperious features, like a circular jaw and angled chin, accentuated by her thin lips.

She typically wears a traditional, black cheongsam with golden piping, which is little more than a sleeveless combat robe that she buttons up over her bodice and ends in a sort of cloak around her calf. She wears simple sandals as traditional footwear.

She definitely isn't extremely muscled, but, she does have somewhat obvious physical prowess. She's strong, with a slightly larger build than one would expect of a girl her age. It shows best in her strong legs, from her few years of dedicated running into the wilds, alongside the boys and men of her tribe.
Personality: Amaya is a careful, yet outgoing young girl with more than enough charisma and energy to go around. She finds it easy to make new friends, and tends to reach out to those that she feels are in a bad mood.

Despite her age and generally optimistic/ditsy personality, though, she is quite insightful and very intelligent, thanks to the diligent work of the Sages. As a Tribal Noble, she has a sort of eloquence to how she carries herself, with a naturally imperious voice of command. She's head strong, though, and easily self-reliant. She just enjoys her company with others.
Biography: As the daughter of the Chief, Amaya is apart of Tribe nobility. In most cases, this would grant her no extra benefits, save for the ability to join and, later, lead a party into the hunting grounds at an early age. Of course, she also had first access to any healing necessary and was apart of a wealthy bloodline. Aside from this, she was just like any other Tribesman.

. . .Well, except for the fact that she was a tribeswoman. Being raised in the Siegian tribe changed a lot for her. Most tribes thought it a crime or bad luck to take woman out into the field with them. The Siegian tribe, though, they believed that, if a woman wanted to hunt, then, they could. It was encouraged, even; everyone had a say and part in the meals. As farmers and traders, too, they had even more access to what it was they needed.

She took up at her father's side in the hunt at the age of 8, when her brother, Ken, was just turning 10 and gaining the right to lead his first hunting party. She spent two years at her father's side, before her mother insisted she were pulled away for teaching on the trade. With an appeal from the Sages, her father finally agreed; it was good for her to learn something else.

During that two years, she didn't simply stop going on the hunt with her father. She just went on the trade with her mother, more often. The physical experience was good for her, and the tactical training could only benefit her. After two years was up, she was hoping to go back into full training at her Father's side; her mother happily let her, knowing that her father enjoyed the thought of having his girl at his side.

Well, those two years earned them new enemies. It brought new rivals, new competition. They had ancient blood, with powerful tactical acumens and even better soldiers to carry them out. When she was finally ready to join her father back on the hunt, he was slain on the battlefield. An enemy warrior threw honor away, and stabbed him straight through from behind. The healers couldn't make it to him, quickly enough. Amaya lost her biggest inspiration to what it was she wanted to do.

She was twelve years old. Those next two years. . .they were hard. She still had her mother and her big brother, along with the support of the rest of her Tribe. They managed long enough to push away the opposing army, before they gave her father the proper burial. As he burned in a warrior's ceremony, she couldn't help but cry.

Her brother would turn sixteen in two years. Once that happened, by Tribe tradition, he would become the next Chief. Amaya kept up her own physical training during the time that the Sages sent him off to learn about the world, while taking more time into the art of the trade and healing. She was on the line to becoming the next Shaman, as her mother was. In times of turmoil like this, the Shaman was head of the tribe; she wanted that for herself. A year went by, though, and Ken returned, announcing his intentions of permanently leaving the Siegian Tribe. With those few words, he obliterated his chances of ever becoming Chief, and his rightful claim to the title.

Today, Amaya continues to train under the watchful eye of the Sages and her mother. Her mother is now both the acting Shaman and Chief of the tribe, as is tradition. She hasn't seen her big brother in a little over a year; in all honesty, even through all her training and dedication to it, with some bouts of fun in between, she has time to sit down and think about how much she misses him.

If only she understood why he left.

Since her brother's abandonment of their tribe, her mother has worked hard to train Amaya properly, to become the next Shaman. However, with the date quickly arriving where the Sages have designated Amaya to travel elsewhere and learn something the Tribe can't teach her, her mother has derailed from traditional Shaman training. She has been going into depth with Amaya on just how her ancestry works, and what that means for her - that Amaya is one of the few remaining descendants of the ancient Murians, just like her brother, Ken.

Whereas Ken didn't have this kind of training from his mother, Amaya has been training to hone some of the abilities that come with this - such as the ability to see into the Wave World. The ability is hard for her to maintain, and strains her eyes quite a bit. With practice, though, it could become a true tool for her use.

Later on, with a faithful encounter in Whazzap, her innate ability to EM Wave Change without assistance from an EM being was awakened by her forceful and rather volatile interaction with an OOPArt. Her unique wave signature interacted with the OOPArt, and forced the Wave Form that was literally apart of her genetics - her transformation into Nautica.

After the awakening of her Wave Form, Amaya had a move sponsored by the Sages of her Tribe, relocating her to Shisa Island. During her first day, she came across a violent Virus-Like Wave Being which attacked her on sight. Protected and guided by the Leviathan Spear through her first Wave Battle ever, she thankfully fended him off long enough to survive. After this scare, she starts looking for ways to hone her battle skills in the Wave World.

Wave Conversion

Name: Nautica
Element: Wind
Sub Element: Summon
Gender: Female
Description: The changes between Amaya and Nautica are purely apparel and equipment, without any changes to her physique.

Her black cheongsam is traded in for a blue one, which she wears underneath a cloak of resplendent white wings. The cloak ends around her feet with fine feathers, and has the same ending around her wrists. The feathers making up the cloak are placed in a design of exquisite detail, placed to create etchings and and other Murian marks into her outfit.

As is to be expected, practically carved into the only visible part of her cheongsam, at the very top of her torso, is the Crest of Mu.

Her head is adorned with a traditional headdress, pulling up her black hair into its ivory coils before separating it down her shoulders in fine plaits. Only a few strands stray down onto her forehead, the rest of it pulled up in and wrapped about the ivory, crown-like piece.

Nautica's only real equipment, though, is her staff: An ivory, meter-long, 1/4 inch diameter pole with an exquisitely designed typhoon symbol mounted at the top.
Strengths

- Dexterous Focus: She is noticeably faster than the average Wave Warrior, and movement is kind of her specialty.
- Uncanny Grace: Nautica is a figure on the battlefield, her nimbleness and training granting her improved reflexes.
- Patience: A virtue earned on both the hunting ground, battlefield and in the market, her patience makes it easier for her to watch and wait.
- Head Strong: If nothing more, Nautica is head strong. Sure of her actions and her reasons, she is not one to be dissuaded once she has her mind set. As such, she's much harder to influence on the battlefield by fear or shows of power.
Weaknesses

- Strength Foible: She is not terribly weak, but, fighting face-to-face with someone isn't necessarily her forte.
- Light Weight: Nautica is nimble, but that makes her really easy to toss around and abuse with powerful attacks.
- Untempered Anger: It comes with the ancient blood. Despite her patience, sometimes, she becomes susceptible to that voice within her telling her to fight.
- Compassionate: Nautica is a sap for people, and perhaps too trusting for her own good. She likes to believe in the good in people, and can sometimes let this cloud her judgment.

Weapon 1

Weapon Name: Typhoon Staff
Weapon Description: This ivory, meter-long, 1/4 inch diameter staff has a typhoon carving mounted at the top. This is her only real "weapon," and its primary use is defense. She can also use it to hit people upside the head with, as well as channel some of her control over wind.

1. Attack Name: Whirl and Twirl
Type: Staff
Element: Wind/Summon
Description: Nautica uses the staff in the most simple of ways: whacking someone with it. The staff is charged with wind power to give her some breathing space.
Damage: Low Damage. Level 1 Winds push victims back by 2 meters, with a mandatory 3-CD on the Wind effect. Usable multiple times a turn.

2. Attack Name: Counterpoise
Type: Reflector
Element: Wind
Description: Nautica twirls the staff in front of her with both hands, blocking an attack before immediately shifting her weight around to counter-strike with the staff; turning to send a typhoon back her attacker's way.
Damage: Pathetic Health, Moderate Damage reflected. Level 1 Winds push victims back 2 meters, with a Mandatory 3-CD on the Wind effect. 5-CD.

3. Attack Name: Cyclone
Type: SAA
Element: Wind
Description: With both hands, Nautica swings the staff, a one-meter area of choice suddenly being buffeted by a stream of harmless wind, before spiraling into a violent typhoon at any one-meter diameter spot on the battlefield. The powerful winds rip through defenses.
Damage: Moderate Damage. Pierces, Breaks, Blows Auras/Barriers. Requires two hands. Can only be used as the last action in a turn, with delayed use. 3-CD.
Weapon 2

Weapon Name: Cloudy Conjuration
Weapon Description: Nautica's main, wind-based Summons, conjured directly out of the air around her.

1. Attack Name: Summon Air Elemental
Type: Mobile Summon
Element: Wind
Description: Nautica uses her innate control of the wind to conjure a being made entirely out of wind - the Air Elemental. A 7' tall, roughly humanoid, being of churning wind, the air Elemental moves about by floating just above the ground, its legs replaced by a raging typhoon, and attacks by trapping enemies within its raging vortex of a body. Rather than making the being from scratch, Nautica uses energy from some of her other summons.
Damage: Spawns Air Elemental. Modest Health, with a CQC Attack that deals Low, Wind Damage. While attacking, this Elemental uses both of Nautica's hands. 10-CD.

2. Attack Name: Summon Condor
Type: Mobile Summons
Element: Wind
Description: Nautica makes a call to the creatures of the air, summoning a Condor to her side. The large bird, with a wingspan of a meter, attacks by flying straight into enemies; once again, floating just above the ground. Its main purpose? A distraction.
Damage: Spawns Condor. High Health, Moderate Damage CQC Attack. When attacking, it uses both of Nautica's hands. All Attacks made against Nautica are instead homed in onto the Condor; all attacks against it are Homing. 7-CD.

3. Attack Name: Summon Typhoon(s)
Type: Immobile Summon
Element: Wind
Description: Nautica churns the win in order to create a Typhoon, her signature companion, summoned just in front of her. The Typhoon(s) are dark, churning columns of wind, and attack by releasing smaller typhoons from their form. Capable of creating either one, three or five typhoons, their height varies on number - if one, the typhoon is three meters tall. If creating three, they are two meters tall. If creating five, they are all one meter tall. Regardless, the typhoons are one meter in diameter.
Damage: Spawns Typhoon, an Immobile Summon. Regardless of how many are summoned, Amaya suffers a Tier 4 Speed Decrease while they're active. All of the Typhoons fire a .5 Meter Diameter Projectile using one of Nautica's hands, which deal Pitiful Damage.
1st Option: Spawns 5 Typhoons, with Pitiful Health. 7-CD.
2nd Option: Spawns 3 Typhoons, with Moderate Health. 10-CD.
3rd Option: Spawns 1 Typhoon, with Great Health. 13-CD.
Weapon 3

Weapon Name: Sky Murian
Weapon Description: A new breed of Murian Soldier, crafted from the Wind. One of Nautica's more powerful summons, this Warrior comes with a set of skills all his own.

1. Attack Name: Summon Sky Murian
Type: Mobile Summon
Element: Wind
Description: Nautica fashions the Sky Murian from the wind, creating a warrior Mu would be proud of: A pinhead helmet, lapping shoulder guards, a wide plate on its chest bearing the Crest of Mu. Thin lines, straight and angular, adorned its body. Holding a sword and shield, this Murian Soldier is cloud white, and stands 6' tall.
Damage: Spawns the Sky Murian. High Health. 10-CD.

2. Attack Name: Sky Strike
Type: Sword
Element: Summon
Description: The Sky Murian strikes out with his meter-long sword in a simple but trained slash, showing expertise.
Damage: Usable by the Sky Murian. Modest Damage. As a secondary option, it can instead deal Moderate Damage and Pierce, but, has a 3-CD. Uses one of Nautica's hands.

3. Attack Name: Wind Wall
Type: Shield
Element: Summon
Description: The Sky Murian smashes his shield down in front of him, expanding the circular shield into a large wall of churning winds, large enough to cover himself and one other person seeking coverage from fire; however, while active, it roots the Warrior - and Nautica - to the spot.
Damage: Usable by the Sky Murian. Modest Health Shield. 10-CD, Self-Inflicted Gravity.
Nautica's Unstated Attacks fired through the Wind Wall gain 2 Damage Levels.
Weapon 4

Weapon Name: Summoner's Link
Weapon Description: Abilities that connect Nautica to her called allies more strongly than others.

1. Attack Name: Life Link
Type: Passive
Element: Summon
Description: Her connection to her Summons is unlike anything anyone has ever seen, Nautica tying her very life to their's. Pain is shared between them, ultimately making everything less damaging. When push comes to shove, the Summons refuse to allow Nautica to help them any further.
Damage: Reduces all Damage the Summons take by 1 Damage Level. In return, Nautica takes all Damage they take. When Nautica drops to half health, this ability permanently deactivates.

2. Attack Name: Maker's Call
Type: Activated
Element: Summon
Description: Nautica relies on her summons more than anything, and is capable of calling them back before they're fully recharged.
Damage: Nautica can use any 1 Summon-Type attack, ignoring its Cool Down. It is Summoned back with health two Damage Levels lower than normal, and resets the Summon's CD. 10-CD. While the summon is Active in this way, Nautica loses 1 Action-Slot.

3. Attack Name: Transposition
Type: Warp
Element: Summon
Description: Nautica's summons are connected to her in a way that allows them to switch positions. So long as Nautica is within 1.5 meters of any one of her summons, and is holding nothing in her hands, she can instantly switch places with them.
Damage: Nautica switches places with any summon within 1.5 meters of her location. Two hands, 8-CD.
Nautica's BBW

BBW Name: Fury of the Winds
Type: Ability BBW
Description: Nautica is wreathed in a fierce typhoon, swirling around her in violent motions.

1. Attack Name: Augmented Summons
Type: Passive
Element: Summon
Description: In her time of desperation, her Summons have more energy placed behind them, strengthened beyond their peak. In return, their previous protective measure is essentially reversed.
Damage: All of Nautica's Summons have the Damage they deal increased by 1 Damage Level. In return, all Damage they take is increased by 1 Damage Level.

2. Attack Name: Compassion's Call
Type: Activated Ability
Element: Summon
Description: Nautica sacrifices a Recovery Battlecard to share its effects between herself and a single Summon.
Damage: By Sacrificing a Recovery Battlecard, that Battlecard's effects are split between herself and one of her summons, rounded down to the nearest percentage. 5-CD.

3. Attack Name: Repelling Winds
Type: Activated Ability
Element: Wind
Description: By channeling the power of the wind, she can imbue her attacks with the ability to push their victims away.
Damage: Nautica charges to add the Wind Status to her next attack. 5-CD.
