How long had it been, since he stretched his legs? It seemed like forever ago, since the last time he and Kage had become one. His power surged through him like a welcome, old friend, and the reminder of the thrill of the fight came to him before he even had a foe to face.

Shade's Wave Signature fluctuated, and, with minimal effort, he walked right through the walls. He had learned a long time ago that most Cameras operated on a spectrum that gave them the ability to perceive Wave Warriors up to a particular frequency, even when human eyes couldn't. He could keep his signature well about that, for more than enough time to do what he wanted to do and get out of the museum.

What would the fun in that be, though?

He maintained a high enough frequency to remain invisible to humans and most baser Wizards not focused on detecting high frequency targets, but, didn't bother achieving a necessary frequency to be invisible to the Cameras within the Shisa Island Museum. Half of the joy of being back out in the world was finding a new sparring partner, after the oh-so unfortunate disappearance of his previous one.

The inside of the Museum was pretty enough, but, he wasn't here to sight see. The marble walls and crimson tapestry wasn't important to him, and neither were the carpets nor the peculiar wave displays. He was much more interested in the ancient urn in the corner.

The clay-stone urn had carvings and engravings that unmistakably indicated it as a Murian artifact. As he approached the urn, Shade simply walked right through people and Wizards, maintaining his frequency to not even phase them, outstretching a blazing hand to touch the urn.

As he touched it, the sygils on its sides sung to life, and Shade felt the urn take up energy from his presence. The ever surprising Murians . . . the urn was a storage container for raw EM Energy. What they might've used it for, he hadn't the slightest clue. He knew what he could use it for, though, and knowing it was an EM Storage Container, he already knew more about it than every pitiful human in the vicinity.

Shade walked around the urn and purposefully put his face into view of one of the cameras within the facility, grabbing the urn up with one hand and suddenly shifting his frequency to a visible speed. With the swing of one blazing fist, he smashed a hole into a nearby wall, the intense flames sprouting without mercy across the stone. His presence known and the people afraid, the museum quickly cleared out . . . and just as quickly locked down.

He couldn't simply leave, now. The whole building would've locked down to prevent EM Wave Movement out of the area, and a metal wall was raised over the only physical exit so that, if he decided to pulse out, he couldn't just walk out with his new prize. As Shade looked around at the vicinity to analyze the waves as they shifted, he was rather impressed.

They were actually trying, this time.

He held up his hand, and the purple flames arcing across the walls centered back to his command, instead circling around the floor at his feet, never moving, totally at his control. As he waited for his challenger to arrive, he moved himself, and his urn, to the center of the building, and simply sat down.

Let them come.

"DEMPA HENKAN! NIGHTSHADE, ON AIR!"

A feline figure dropped from a wave road onto the roof of the building without making the slightest sound. A quick combat roll to dampen fall damage, mostly muscle memory from his parkour class, and he was back on his claws. The cat warrior threw half a pair of hexagonal shaped widgets, which deployed and remained inactive for the time being, their systems in standby. Nightshade's blue eyes scanned the area, locating the perpetrator without much effort. The guy was waiting him. Cocky little thing he was. He could definitely use that to his advantage.

He hopped down a few meters from him, rising to his full height.

"Normally I would tell you to cease and desist and all that." He stated, lowering into his fight stance. "But looking at your actions it is pretty clear you are here to have fun. So let's cut the crap and get straight to the point."

It was supposed to be a relaxing vacation of sorts. Geo had come to the island to clear his mind and think about what path he wanted to take next. But of course, old memories just had to keep popping back up in his head. Naturally, the only place that interested him was the museum, as he still couldn't shake the memories of his artifact hunting days. It had been the cause of his gradual shift to the criminal side, and the sword that he kept at his side was a constant reminder of that. Walking through the ancient artifacts, sometimes shown in person and sometimes as a Real Wave projection, all brought forth bad memories. With a sigh, Geo lowered his head and combed his hand through his dark brown hair, "This is just great. Come here to relax and think, and this happens..."

His ever helpful Wizard, Void-0, materialized beside him, his lower body coiled as he crossed his armored forearms, "Have you made your decision yet, Geo?" For the longest time, ever since Geo had secluded himself in his home once again, Void-0 had suggested that he go a step beyond his current self. To discard the disguise of a normal human student and fully give in to the darkness in his heart. Geo's eyebrow twitched in annoyance, and he turned to his Wizard with an angry look on his face, "It's not such an easy decision, you know! I still need time to think..."

"Hmph. Well, while you take your time 'thinking', we could be--...hold on a moment." Void-0's head turned from side to side, his arms uncrossing as concern took over his features, "I sense something coming." Despite how he looked, Void-0 was a skilled spy and assassin, so he was always on the lookout for those trying to conceal themselves from sight. Odd...it's as though they're not really trying to hide... Geo narrowed his eyes, muttering under his breath, "What is it, Void?" Before the Wizard could respond, they both noticed an assortment of gasps, turning to the cause of it: One of the artifacts had begun to glow!

"What is going o--...huh?!" Geo's eyes widened as the appearance of a Wave Warrior came into view, "Are you kidding me...?! Void, come on!" The Wizard dematerialized back into his Hunter, and Geo ran behind a nearby pillar to observe the strange Wave Warrior's actions, putting his stealth training to use. His breathing became practically silent, his body melding into the shadows as his eyes lost their luster. He had quieted his very presence, leaving himself unseen and unheard as he waited.

Before long, another Wave Warrior entered the fray. A hero of sorts, it seemed. Seeing as he had come alone, he was either an idiot...or extremely confident. Either way, Geo watched with curiosity, keeping himself hidden in the shadows until he was discovered. However, one thing that was bothering him was...did he recognize the thieving Wave Warrior?

He sensed the shift of Waves before he saw the source, and, just as he anticipated, a Wave Warrior phased through the roof and fell before him. Sitting with his legs crossed, he sat up and set his chin on the lid of the urn, set between his legs.

Within, he felt his power stirring. He knew that the Wave Warrior before him had a small inkling of how strong he was; it was difficult to keep it all bottled up. The cat-like Wave Warrior in front of him, though . . . he had no way of hiding his power. Not from him.

Shade closed his eyes, and took a death breath. With his eyes closed, he surveyed the room, simply taking a feel of the space around him by sifting through the ambient waves in the area. Outside of the Real Wave Projectors, and the security systems, two wave signatures existed within the museum . . . the Wave Warrior in front of him, obviously ready for battle, was one of them.

The other, hiding away. He opened his eyes, his wild, yellow irises taken over by a powerful purple glow. Shade allowed his power to pulse outward, and the very Wave World warped in waves as it expanded. As he had so many times before, he pushed his will against the Wave World, and the Wave World answered his call.

It was within his birthright. Within his power.

The Waves in the room coalesced and gathered along the walls, the floors, and every discernible surface. The Real Wave Projectors drained into obscurity, losing form, as they, too, bent to his will, following the waves. The Wave Roads tore themselves apart and gathered, too. Even the Wave Warrior, this man that they sent to challenge him, would feel his pull, his commands.

The Waves shifted until the walls, ceilings, pillars, floors and everything else were coated in a layer of purple waves, and the only remaining surface that could support the fighters was the floor. All of the physical surfaces in the room were left alone, other than also having their own coating of Waves; the Wave Roads, and even the Wave Access Points to pulse into the nearby appliances, were all gone.

Shade shifted, simply floating off of the ground and setting his feet beneath him to stand. With the tap of his hand, the waves beneath the Urn reached up and swallowed it, surrounding it in a protective, purple cube.

"So," he intoned, moving his hand across the featureless purple surface as he walked around it, glaring at Nightshade through his purple visor. "After a year, the Satella Police send a young boy with the most pathetic Wave Signature I've ever detected . . . then again, you don't have a Wave Marker indicating you as a Satella Agent.

"So, what is it, then? Some random act of altruism, to make a name for yourself? Going blindly into danger? Or are you in your training rounds, and lack access to the knowledge of what I can do?"
He hung his head, chest rising and falling with a rhythmic chuckle. "It doesn't matter."

He raised his head, pushing himself off of the smooth surface behind him. He walked slowly towards Nightshade, prowling around him like a predator observing his prey. All the while, Nightshade would feel these waves of roiling rejection, like the willingness to speak with Shade were draining right out of him. He would have the desire to step away, and put distance between himself and Shade, even as Shade felt no irks in getting close to Nightshade.

"I'm a warrior. I don't fight with any tricks, or gimmicks. I have advanced capabilities, sure, but, on the battlefield? . . . all I recognize is a fellow combatant who fights competently and honorably." He rounded Nightshade one more time, and stepped back to his position in front of the protective field around his people's urn.

"With that in mind," he continued, still not turning back to face Nightshade. "I'll give the other man in the room one last chance to face me with a little bit of spine, before I force him to make himself known."

"Well if you were to be so high and mighty Captain Mehk would gladly come here to drag your ass all the way to the brim. But, you see, he has other more important things to take care, so this pathethic wave warrior will make sure to entertain you."

Nightshade barely lifed an eyebrow at the mention of a third person inside. He did sense a disturbance, but payed it no mind. His widgets were in place, his secret weapon granted the feline warrior complete control of the area. They would lie in wait, he would use them as a last resort given their peculiar functions. He would show Mehk that those weren't simple toys. He would make sure those widgets would be made into standard issue soon enough. They were prototypes, but they fuction well. Who knows, if he really would get into Satella the IT department might be able to patch the small holes on his experimental ones.

"Ah, well...if you wanna chicken out, you do you. I bet you will get your ass kicked regardless." He stood up again, faking a lowering of his guard. "Go right ahead."

Geo continued his watch of the two Wave Warriors, a nagging voice in the back of his head willing him to come out of hiding and go forward. Even though he was a wielder of stealth, he always longed to be in the fray, duking it out with the best of them. That was why, despite his practice in mid to long range weapons, he never stopped using that sword of his. That side of him was now tugging at him much harder as he began to recognize the other Wave Warrior, Damn. Who is this guy...?

As the Real Wave displays shifted, Geo's eyes moved to them without losing his stealthy, rhythmic breathing, Oh, great. He's messing around with the displays. Trying to make the place more themat--...? Wait, huh...? The ninja-like young man flinched for once as more waves became visible to him, turning the room from an elegant museum to more like a purple, crystallized cave of some sorts! He knew that he'd essentially lost the benefit of surprise when he himself had been surprised, but all of the stealth lessons in the world couldn't prepare you for the very floor underneath your feet changing. Besides, it was most likely that with that change, this Wave Warrior had full control of the room, and could see him despite his hidden status.

When the Wave Warrior finally called him out, Geo grimaced, before a voice whispered from his Hunter, "I'm sorry, Geo. Your sneaking was perfect, but this guy...he was practically dragging me towards him..." Raising an eyebrow, Geo paused for a moment to consider that wording before shaking his head thoughtfully, whispering in return, "Don't worry about it. I'd prefer it this way, anyways." Without so much as Wave Changing, Geo bravely stepped out from the shadows, leaning against the pillar he had just been hiding behind. A calm smile hung on his face as his hands rest on his jacket pockets, "Yo. You've changed quite a bit...and even gained a few new tricks, haven't you...Ken?"

It had been some long years since the two had met, but Geo had put his chips on the table and bet it all on this being that same kid from the mall all those years ago. That prideful way of speaking, and the insistence of having a fair, honorable fight...there was no mistaking it. Even if those aspects of him had seemed to grow a bit just as he had.

Shade had to stop himself from chuckling. The young man's constant banter and comebacks reminded him of the only other warrior who'd ever truly pushed him, on the battlefield. It wasn't a very fond memory to be drudging up, sure, but, it was still amusing to think about.

At least he knew it would be interesting. Shade's show of power was mostly that; a show. To let them know just who and what they were dealing with, and give them their peace. To know that, even despite the odds being against him, his adversary was still able to make jokes . . . no matter the young man's skill in a fight, Shade looked forward to it.

Then, he felt more than saw the other one in the room coming towards them. He shifted his gaze without moving his head, and, even as the recognition and memories flowed over him, he tasted a familiar sourness on his tongue. The last thing he needed was yet another blast from his past trying to 'right' him, and 'remind' him who his friends were. He'd played this game, sung this song and danced to this tune too many times with Nova to have any more patience for it.

"Yes. I have changed. What an astute observation," he answered, deciding to ignore the use of his real name. turning back around, he decided to give Geo his full attention. "I've grown. Have you?" It was a question he had asked Nova, when he first accepted his birthright. Seemed appropriate, after four years of not even hearing from the man.

He didn't wait for an answer. He requested a wave warrior to show himself, and, instead, a human walked out behind of a pillar. "Like the kind man here said earlier," he said, referencing the dark Wave Warrior, "I came here with a purpose. Small talk is nice . . . but I'd much rather do it while fighting!"

The whole of the room rippled in waves as his muscles tensed, and, suddenly, Jet would feel a whirl of power and Void would feel his will being grasped at, as a field of Wave Energy surrounded them that would force them to Wave Change.

The spikes on Shade's shoulders rose slowly, and suddenly split, to reveal a set of crimson handles jutting out of his shoulders. Crossing his arms over his chest, he grabbed at the handles, and pulled two swords from his shoulders, appearing as though the two blades could easily merge into one.

"So, what do you say, men? Are we done with the idle banter?"

He stayed still for a moment, and, suddenly, he was moving. Leaping, he shifted his body and kicked off of the wave cube behind him, flying towards the first Wave Warrior who entered the room. Turning his weight, he landed before he swung, landing on his left and spinning on his heel to carry his momentum into a simple, side-slash with his left weapon.

Shade decided he'd start it off super simple, leave the both of them wanting. He continued his flurry forward, following his first slash with a downward swipe using the alternating weapon, then alternated again for a right diagonal slash from the man's shoulder to his hip. Bringing both weapons together in a single hand, Shade spun and swung in a wide side arc, each slash carried through with a step forward to chase his enemy, not allowing for a second to gather their thoughts. He ducked down and feinted towards the warrior's right leg, only to suddenly shift and bring up a powerful, cleaving uppercut.

Breaking his weapons apart once again, Shade took another step forward, and followed through his final swing, spinning his weapons in his grip to execute a powerful cross clash, aimed at his opponent's mid section.

Then, with a powerful leap, Shade somersaulted in the air to find himself back in front of the cube. He turned his attention to the other Wave Warrior, only just finishing their forced Wave Conversion, and waited to see how the two would react to his sudden flurry.

His fighting style wasn't about hard hitting strikes, and it wasn't even about hitting the opponent all at once. It was about whittling them down, tiring them out . . . he had the stamina to fight on, and he knew how to center himself, even in a fight against two others.

Shifting from his landing stance, Shade took his first actual fighting stance since he started, his flurry a simple display of what he could do with a little momentum. Broadening his stance, and turning his body to the side, he held one blade in front of him, edge pointed towards them, and the other behind him, raised just above his shoulder so that the point of the blade was facing down. His body, shifted to the side, would make for a smaller target, and his broad stance was both steadying and supporting should he decide to get mobile. His position and sword stance gave him a clear sight of both combatants, and the cube at his back meant they would have to focus their battle around him, rather than he have to worry about both of them alternating their strikes.

"My name is Shade. I'd like to know who I'm fighting, before we get to the serious stuff."

Geo raised an eyebrow at Shade's response, staying quiet aside from an amused snirk at his arrogance. The guy gets this power, and suddenly he thinks he's above it all. Pushing himself off of the pillar, the young brunette pulled his hands out of his pockets, tilting his head down slightly as a sharp gaze focused on the Wave Warrior, "What are you thinking, doing this in such a public pl--...eh?!" Before he could scold the younger man, Geo suddenly felt a surge of energy rising up through his body. Materializing from his Hunter, Void-0 hissed in annoyance, "He's...forcing a transformation!!"

"He can do that...?! Agh!" Geo raised his arms up over his face as Void-0's serpentine body wrapped around him like a cocoon, before melding into his very body! Silver, streamlined armor formed around parts of his body while a black, skintight suit covered his skin. When the transformation had finished, Voidman now stood in Geo's place, lowering his arms as he looked over himself in pure confusion, "Th...I had no idea he could even do this..." He glared up at Shade, baring his teeth as the thought of having someone who could manipulate even others' transformation processes walking around so casually.

"Hah. I can see that you have grown quite a bit. Quite a bit overconfident, that is."

Materializing his buster weapon, Voidman prepared himself for combat immediately. Despite knowing him from years ago, he had never truly fought the guy himself. Either way, there was no doubt that his fighting style had either changed or improved drastically over the years. Surprisingly, the Wave Warrior had decided to go straight for the inexperienced fighter, leaving Voidman to watch as Shade went right on the offense. He took note of the way that the swordsman wasted no time and left no breathing room for his opponent, amazed at his dexterity with those two blades.

"Hmph." Raising his buster up towards Shade's little perch, Voidman fired a shot at the Wave Warrior without hesitation while he spoke his name, his pupils slanted like a venomous snake's. A red visor had lowered over his eyes, while a black mask slipped up from his suit and covered his mouth and nose, hiding most of his face from sight. As he prepared a second shot, the visor glowed intimidatingly.

"I thought we were done with the idle banter?"

The Voidbuster glowed with a deep purple glow before firing off a rapid barrage of shadowy projectiles at where Shade was standing. Using them as cover, Voidman slammed the his pivot foot back into the floor, activating his Boost Boots! The sudden thrust sent him rocketing forward at high speeds, moving as though he were wearing roller-skates! When he had gotten close enough, he attempted to hit the man with a shoulder tackle, his momentum increased due to the propulsion of the boots!

Nightshade would allow his opponent's blade to graze him, for now. He studied his movements, his balance, what side he preferred. What attack patterns he had. He studied everything. Once he figured out the opening in his guard, he acted. Slotting in chips one after the other, the warrior deliverd three quick basic counters when it was possible, clawing at the target at any opportunity he had. He would the realize to third's warrior's intention and would be disengaging from Shade as soon as the third wave warrior began firing.

Without saying a word, the feline em being pulled out a spheric widget and activated it by throwing it on the ground near them. It sent out a pulse straight to Satella's HQ, followed by a audio recording of the last few minutes. The other guy used the thief's real name. Satella could possibly track the voices of people and getinfo on the guy to throw in jail. Nightshade himself lowered into his fight stance, flawless fencing technique already at work.

When he went on the offensive, his opponent just stood and took it. As he struck, he watched his opponent's every move, and the man didn't take any defensive action, but, his eyes were moving. Those eyes were the eyes of a discerning man, trying to study his movements and familiarize himself with his weaknesses. There were ways to go about studying someone's movements and find their weaknesses without a single defensive move.

Which meant either the man had a lot of bravado, or had never been in a real fight in his life. The fact that he studied him, even if poorly, meant he had some level of experience in a proper battle, which he had a lot of bravado. That was worse. A warrior who believed they had a name for themselves got sloppy, and, even worse, got desperate. Even Shade, in his many years of experience, never overplayed his own boundaries.

Partway through his onslaught, the man feigned defense, and, instead, his visor read a sudden shift of momentum. A rapid shift forward, and Shade suddenly noticed his shimmering claws swiping through the air. His instincts came to him first, and his body curved to one side as he swung to avoid the first swing. He saw the second swipe, his adrenaline properly pumping, in slow motion, and saw data flow across his visor as he activated a battle card. A yellow array emerged around him, and the futile swipes lost all momentum and strength.

As for the other man, when Shade offered his name, the man he knew as Geo pointed a buster at him. Shade tsked, never understanding why people couldn't appreciate a simple sword fight. Someone always had to bring a gun. That was alright, though; he knew a thing or two about forcing someone to play by his rules.

The first burst flew, and Shade curved his body to one side, simply letting the blast fly right by his face, even with his aura around him. He felt the power emanating from the blast as it grazed by, his face pulled on by the condensed gravity. Interesting weapon, that channeled gravity. He'd only ever seen another Wave Warrior with powers quite like that. Funnily enough, that was also not a very pleasant meeting.

Shade saw his barrage of shadowy pelts. Something he knew from being a rapid fighter, himself - you had to know how to fight with many strikes, and multiple pelts of bullets couldn't cut through his aura. The pelts of shadow practically melted on contact with the protective yellow sphere, which he noticed was tinting his vision. With a tap, his visor adjusted to the tinge, and his vision was fixed.

Then, the man switched things up, and, suddenly, he was charging towards him. He grinned, sliding his foot and turning his body, raising his knee so that the warrior's body would bend over his leg, stopping the brunt of the attack and causing a jarring experience lest the other warrior halted.

He turned to look back at Nightshade, recalling how he'd examined his every step with his sword. He had plenty of ways to throw him off of his swordplay, especially considering his fencing stance. An interesting one, really; who gets into a stance for a sport that utilizes something barely qualified as a blade in the middle of a fight? It's not even an intricate style of swordplay; only a single lethal point on the entire weapon. The stance is also unbalanced and horrible so situational; outside of a fencing match, it's practically useless.

"Don't mistake my skill as overconfidence. I'm aware of my limits . . . and I doubt either of you can push me to them." He dismisses his swords, the weapons disintegrating in his grip, feeling their weight return to the inside of his arms. Turning to Geo, who was closest in proximity, Shade threw a simple side punch and then leaped, spinning in mid air to bring his blazing foot crashing down onto the Wave Warrior.

He turned his glowing purple gaze back to Nightshade, and, while still on the ground, simply shifted his chin. The purple waves underneath Nightshade sprouted up and protruded at his will, a single spike rising to stab him from below. As the spike sunk back into the ground, Shade pressed his palm against the ground and used the force to flip back up, into the air, and land in front of Nightshade.

"Your observational skills are keen, I'll give you that. They'll need to be keener to recognize any of the many fighting styles I can switch between." Raising his blazing hands, the purple waves shifted and morphed, and, as he swung them as though to chop, they shifted into daggers, aimed at Nightshade's face.

Upon seeing both Shade's reaction time from the unannounced shot that he had fired being easily dodged, and the aura that surrounded him completely absorbing the damage he had attempted to deal, which was both frustrating and a blow to his pride, Geo was beginning to analyze his defenses. The next attack would definitely be strong enough to break through that aura that was protecting him, and Shade must have known that. So, expecting a counter attack to his tackle, Voidman cut the power to his boosters, letting momentum carry him towards the offending Wave Warrior!

Seeing the expected counter attack, Voidman thrust his hand out and slammed it into the knee, catching it just barely before using its force to propel him into the air! Flipping just once to right himself in midair, Voidman kicked off of the ceiling and landed once more, just in time for Shade to attack with a punch! The fist struck against the side of the Wave Warrior's helmet, making him stumble slightly, trying to get up from his crouched position before Shade could take any more advantage of it. Voidman, using the explosive power of his legs, rose up from his crouching position with his arms crossed over his head, catching the blazing foot against them before throwing his arms to the side almost immediately, stumbling a few steps away.

Finally getting his footing, Voidman held his right hand out, his buster disappearing as he called upon the VZ-Saber, "Can't bring you to your limits, huh? That's a confident viewpoint, Shade. But it's..." Voidman rushed towards Shade from behind while his focus was on the cat, swinging his blade wildly! Each slash didn't have nearly as much finesse as the expert swordsman's had, but that didn't mean that it didn't have power and speed behind each swing, "...debatable!!"

"Nah. You're nothing but a smug dick like many others." Was all the black cat said, hopping in the air to avoid the spikes, then morphing his right hand into his trustly Longsword to deflect the incoming projectiles.

It took him moments to analyze the cuts the guy made on him. Direction, length, pressure applied to the blade. Once he was done, a pink aura popped around his body and closed most of the wounds. Nightshade would then zig zag across the ground full speed, then abarrel roll performed mid air, and the little cat would attempt to stamp his trademark kick in the guy's face.

He would quickly disengage from the foe and backflip to safety. There, he resumed his fencing stance. He wobbled the longsword around a little, testing speed and flexibility. Then, the black cat stretched. He wasn't phrased by the guy's aura at all. Mehk was counting on him and he would not disappoint. For as much experience this guy had, one thing the black and green warrior knew the guy didn't do.

He didn't fight Nightshade.

And he would soon discover just how all his "skills" would work out against him.

Nightshade

While spinning in his strike against Nightshade, Shade felt the wind of an attack against his aura. His defense flickered, and then faded away; had it not been for the split second it took for his visor to readjust to the aura's absence, he wouldn't have even noticed it disappearing.

He carried out his spinning slash on Nightshade, even as the fencing advocate bounced away, until he was face to face with VoidMan, who had just flung his second sword swing. He finished out the turn and slammed his foot down to stop himself, letting the remaining momentum push his hand to catch the sword mid-swing. Hardening his darklight waves as he came into contact with it, he felt the majority of the weapon cushion off into his hand, but, knew that his extra cushion wouldn't hold up to another blow. Wary of just how far away the other warrior had leaped, he considered his options -

- and allowed the final swing to strike him on his shoulder. The blade smashed into his spaulder, and caught onto the metallic substance. He felt the jarring agony through his whole arm, as it vibrated down the sword and through his wave form.

He didn't have the time to think on the pain, as he already heard the other pest running up behind him. Shade, still close to VoidMan, simply dipped to the right and slid, leaving Nightshade on a direct path for VoidMan's face, rather than his own.

Shade turned and pushed off on his feet, careening from his slide into a short hop away, landing a little ways away from the wall of the building. He turned his head, lifting up his shoulder to try and get a glance at the dent on his spaulder. He couldn't see it too well, which meant it wasn't nearly as bad as it had felt. While he wasn't worried about either of them, he had to keep in mind that this wasn't a pair of crazed men, looking and fighting each other over a chance at a sword; they were both in full collection of their own wares. Not that it would change much; a two person fight with clear minded folks was about the same intensity as a four person mad slaughter fest.

He had put a little bit of distance between him and the fuss, and, with the wall to his back, he was going to make the warriors come to him. With the both of them still wrapped up with one another, he drew his blades out of his shoulders, and channeled his power over them. The weapons were coated in his dark aura, and, as he swung them in front of him, the two blades were suddenly elongated onto a set of ebony chains. Whirling around the lengths of chain, he swings the three meter chain in a cross slash. Once his blades were at their highest arc, he pulled his arms back in, to force the bladed chains to come back inwards on his opponents.

"Y'know, I think I'll stick with the whole 'No Small Talk' stipulation. You guys are either hurtful or full of bravado."

Voidman smirked as one of his blade strokes met its mark, making the all powerful Wave Warrior retreat from close range, "What's the matter, scare you out of your preferred range?" These weren't empty taunts, of course, Voidman was simply playing the mental warfare game. But if Shade took it as a legitimate taunt, then that would be all the better for him. However, there was something bothering him, which he quickly addressed as he was given a short breather. As he turned to face the cornered Shade, his eyes flit to the Wave Warrior beside him, "Are you in your right mind? If you're going to fall for his bravado, then you can stay out of this fight. You'd only be a nuisance."

As the chains came at them, however, Voidman's eyes quickly turned back to his opponent. He was intending to get both of them with one, powerful strike! As if I'd let you do that...! Voidman swung his saber up to deflect the first strike, his arms getting knocked away by the first powerful strike! His eyes narrowing as he scowled behind his mask, Gah...! That was way stronger than I expected! Voidman quickly activated a battle card, Fokx-Fu, creating a crude dummy of Voidman in its place that was chopped to pieces by the remaining attacks. Those chains were dangerous...either way, Voidman teleported just in time to avoid the slashing chains, attacking Shade with a shinai before swiftly reappearing back where he'd been.

After the first hit, Voidman predated another card, a Mega Class card that spawned a Spade Magnes enemy near Shade, letting him attack the Wave Warrior while he began charging his Voidbuster for a shot on what he hoped would be a crippled Shade.

Nightshade rolled his eyes at the other guy helping him. "I'm the cop here, I can't step out. We could argue for days, but we have one common problem to take care of. Truce?"

Chains would be sent hurdling his way, but the cat warrior was quick on his paws. Area Eater was quickly predated and the cat would instant transmit himself to the left, taking cover as the other strikes."Shy. I need more power"

Nightshade's helmet looked down at him. "Shane, how many times do I need to tell you. I am giving you access to every ounce of my power."

The cat warrior shook his head. "I am not talking about hat kind of power." He swiftly ducked to avoid splinters of concrete due to the chains smashish the column he was behind. "I need your experience."

"My what? Shane have you gone crazy? This is no time to-"

"You are a warrior sent here to conquer Earth no? So you should know how to fight pretty well."

"Yeah, so?"

"I need you to guide me. You do have control of my body if you want, right?"

"...I can't believe you are seriously asking me to...alright."

"Just give me subtle hints or make small corrections. We need to do this together or this guy will win. You always trust my decisions when it comes to our wave form. Now it's me time to trust you. I am not Nightshade. WE are Nightshade."

"And we will beat this guy"

The cat warrior focused, bringing up his longsword. Just like fencing taught him you need reflexes, hand eye coordination and speed to win. You have to dictate the tempo of the fight. Shift it, break it, mold it. Soul and blade are a single thing. Him and Shy were a single thing.

He sprung forward from his hide spot just to see his ally cornering Shade. Perfect. He dropped on the ground ad skidded under Magnes just as the guy vanished away. Pulling up all his power on his thighs he forcefully jumped forward, moving into a perfect thrust to the heart. His spare claw would then overswing to the side, stop and come down into a downward slice. Suddenly though the blade erratically changed direction, drew a full 360 and instead sliced down low, ankle level instead of chest level.

In all of this, two piercing blue eyes death stared the enemy. They were different though. The pupils were just slits. Nightshade stance was way more feral looking as well even if it retained that fencing parade.

There was something strange about the wave warrior. Something happened. It seemed an insignificant change. Yet it secretly held a power like no other.

His eyes widened as one of his chains ripped through a little dummy, as opposed to the actual VoidMan. That was a trick an old rival of his used a lot - and he didn't have much time to think on it. In an instant, VoidMan was suddenly at his side. The warrior wasted no time with the shinai he was granted, and, with his weapons still extended on the chains, his main defensive maneuver was out of the question.

There were times in battle when it was best to take a hit, and leave yourself better prepared to defend against another one. This wasn't one of those times. With a leap, he pushed himself away from the knife-swinging warrior and all the way against the wall. With a kick off of the floor, using the wall as a stepping stone, Shade flipped away from the wall to set himself where VoidMan had been a moment ago. Then, in a puff of smoke, VoidMan suddenly reappeared next to him. What luck.

He raised up, yanking on his blades to call them back to their hilt, the length of black chain curling off in dark smoke as it regressed into the metal, preparing to aim a blow at VoidMan. The man was still on the offensive though, and, he watched as he predated yet another battle card -

"VREEEEEERGH!"

What in the name of . . .?! Shade turned, seeing the swinging blue blade out of the corner of his eye far too late. Raising his arm to dampen the blow, rather than taking it full on to his face, was the best of his options. The powerful force from the blade striking his arm should've been enough to send him flying - he felt that force, combined with the force of some outside gravity weighing him down. Two conflicting G-Forces rocked his body at the same time, and the pain of the two pulling at him was excruciating.

He didn't fall, and he didn't falter, he was just standing, experiencing the force of falling and flying without movement. Only his arms didn't feel weighed down by the force, so Shade lifted his sword arm, despite the pain, to bat away the strange new appearance's other sword swing.

Just as quickly as the monstrosity had appeared, it had vanished. Of all the things he had been expecting and anticipating, the random appearance of that thing was not among them. It had been so sudden, without any warning at all; he had been so focused on what VoidMan was slotting in, he hadn't even thought that it would've been a Mega Card.

There would be time to chastise himself, later. For the time being, there was still the cat, who was once again charging at him with a vengeance. He knew a thing or two about personal gravitational fields, and knew that a single disruption would be enough to reset his sense of gravity. As Nightshade launched himself up - seeming intent on impaling him - Shade raised his hand, and instead allowed the cat to stab his sword through his fiery appendage.

While not flesh, the wound still stung, but, it accomplished its intended job. Shade felt the effects of the outside gravity fading, and, after testing his legs, knew that he was fully mobile, again. Closing his impaled hand, he tried to wrap his arm around the handle - mostly aiming for Nightshade's own hand still on the weapon - and gripped down, trying to hold him fast. As the cat-like Wave Warrior came swinging around with a claw swipe, Shade raised his other sword to deflect the blow, swiping up to throw off his strike. Carrying the blade back down, he quickly turned the blade in hold the blade inwards, carrying the end of the blade under his outstretched arm, a strike from Nightshade's shoulder to his hip.

While it wasn't the most advantageous position, the sword impaling his hand offered him a great deal of control over Nightshade, should the warrior prove attached to his longsword battle chip. Dismissing his other sword in its entirety, Shade decided to switch things up a little.

Kage, can you load up a battle card for me? Bushido, preferably. I've got my hands full at the moment.

Already working on it.

The purple wave of his free hand shifted and molded into a thick, heavy blade that suddenly shallowed out into an incredibly thin edge. Turning on his heel, his other hand still wrapped around the blade impaling it, Shade swung his powerful weapon directly at VoidMan. While the Bushido held its purpose, it was far too heavy for his liking; he instantly dismissed the blade once he was done with it, and instead returned to just his fists. He turned back for a second, debating on letting Nightshade go - but, for the time being, if he could maintain this control over the cat, he would. He tried dragging Nightshade along with each step, aiming an uppercut and a simple elbow strike at VoidMan to follow the blade lunge.

As Shade hopped away, Voidman growled under his breath as he knew just where the Wave Warrior would be landing. Lucky guess...! However, his next move would at least give him the breather he'd been hoping for. Jet smirked under the Voidman mask, taking personal pride in the fact that Spade Magnes, the berserking magnetic fiend that he'd been forced to deal with long ago, was now giving Shade a run for his money. The enemy he'd gotten the card from had been a difficult opponent to deal with, but now he had the power of it in his own grasp.

With Shade safely captured in midair, the cat-like Wave Warrior was free to assault him, giving Voidman a chance to retreat a few steps backwards while they tangled with each other. Shade's struggles to attack Voidman while essentially being pinned by Nightshade's longsword were practically pointless. The large sword was easily blocked by Voidman's booster boots, which shot up and pushed the blade away via a gravitational force as he leaped backwards, leaving his other attacks to swing at the air.

Landing in a crouch, Voidman brought his buster, which had been charging over time, up to his sights, taking aim at the duo. It didn't matter to him whether Shade tried using one of them as a shield, either. His gun would penetrate right through and still hit the mark. "Looks like you miscalculated, Shade! You really bet on me having a kind heart?!" The buster glowed, its muzzle growing red hot before it fired the inky black projectile!

Quickly thinking of a follow up that would similarly pierce through the both of them, Voidman predated one of his last offensive cards, making it materialize as a hat on top of his head, "I tip my hat to you, Shade." He smirked before grasping the edge of his hat, swinging it in front of him like a boomerang! "You've really gotten a big head over the years!" The hat soared through the air right behind the buster shot, but that wasn't all. Even if it was avoided, it would curl around and come from back to Voidman, who made sure to be in front of Shade at all times.

Nightshade was feeling amazing. There was something to his new state of being. And that something would come in to play and aid him with his plan. He couldn't help but grin, hearing the other warrior's words. Good no, perfect. Drawing out his inner power, he rendered himself intangible to attacks. This was their opportunity.

He put pressure on the sword, trying to pin Shade's hand to the wall behind them. He was struggling, but then he slowly applied more force onto the blade, driving further down as much as he could. Right. He wasn't alone. He and Shy were fighting together.

Nightshade's will flared up as his rage exploded and directed itself at Shade.

"Eyes FORWARD!"

Nightshade would recall the criminal's attention to him by swiftly planting a kick right in between Shade's legs. And he would take extra care for that kick to meet the guy's crotch real hard. At that distance, and with a hand basically unusable both would hardly be able to move.

Then, out of the corner of his eyes, he saw the other warrior trying to attack both of them. He grinned. Useless, with Shade's attacks failing to connect even Voidman's would not hit him.

His claw scratched forward as soon as he was free, the same exact moment, sparkling with green lightning bolts. A paralizing touch, just to be sure that the guy wouldn't be able to move at all.

But his plan wasn't over yet, oh no. He would use that brief moment of distraction to dismiss his longsword and hide. He would use his widgets, which were still hidden from view since he arrived. Sure he had to improvise a little, but his next move would surely hit his mark.

Suddenly, VoidMan was at a distance, and Nightshade was attempting to take advantage of his seemingly compromising situation. His own eyes, ever perceptive, watched both of them meticulously, and first noticed the purple glow of VoidMan's buster.

Then, to his greatest advantage, Nightshade suddenly became slightly transparent. Shade knew what that was for - his form was entirely intangible. Whether by a battle card or by innate ability, the Wave Warrior didn't have form. What he didn't realize, was how much of a help that was for him.

For the briefest of moments, he let his serious demeanor inch up into a grin. Shade shifted his body so that Nightshade's forward momentum, trying to drive the sword into the wall next to them, would carry the warrior just above him, so that Shade was kneeling beneath him. An instant later, he pushed all of his effort into his legs, rocketing himself into a powerful jump.

As Shade leaped, Nightshade's form simply gave way around him, rippling as though a stone passing through water. He felt Nightshade as he was the stone, as little more than a medium for his travel. The sword in his hand was driven to the point that it connected with Nightshade's own, and Shade utilized that to escape from the cat entirely - by passing right through him.

In the brief instant he remained dormant in the air, Jet fired three spheres at the point where he used to be. Calling his swords to his hands, Shade charged them with his dark essence, bouncing currents of black electricity between the blades. Still airborne, he bounced a final current between the blades to maximize the charge, and turned the impromptu conductors down towards Jet, raining down profaned judgment. In the shadow of his lightning, he saw a shadow flitting towards where he had been a moment ago - he assumed that was Nightshade, flitting off somewhere.

Once he had landed, with Nightshade elsewhere, he had the freedom of movement he preferred. Allowing the cowardly character to his own machinations, he turned his attention towards his old acquaintance.

"I wasn't depending on your heart at all. I just wanted to disadvantage the cat for as long as I could - and I took advantage of him when I needed to.

"Now?"
he paused, coiling dark tendrils down his blades. "You're up." He stepped forward, and, suddenly, he felt a movement underneath him. Turning to look at what was beneath his other foot, he saw a small, black hat wiggling around - and it suddenly got to spinning, sweeping his foot right from underneath him as it returned back to Jet, Shade in tow! "W-ah?!"

Skidding across the ground, holding his hands up to avoid any serious damage, Shade got scooped up and almost flipped mid-air as the hat zipped up to return to VoidMan's head, leaving Shade on the ground in a rather compromising position, directly in front of his opponent. He only just managed to avoid

"Nice view. How's the weather up there?" he asked, in idle banter, before he set his foot and brought his whole body up, using just his legs to push himself up before setting into a powerful, full body swing directly against VoidMan.

Meanwhile, he remained ever weary of Nightshade, keeping his senses on high alert for whenever the allusive cat decided to show himself again.

Nightshade would happily allow the guy to assault the other warrior. And while the two were duking it out he would leap away from their position and then Area Steal to the box containing the urn at the exact same time. He would throw a spherical widget at the two shouting "GRENADE!", which by the look of the thing amd the increasingly fast beeping it could totally be an actual hand crafted grenade, after grabbing the box with the urn inside and gun it for the exit. If this was the thing that guy was after, he wouldn't let it get in his hands. He would use every onuce of speed to run to the first available exit. Jumping out of a open window, the cat warrior would jump on the first wave road available that lead straight to satella HQ.

The two could happily kill eachother all day long. That urn would be instead be inside by the Satella Vault with Mehk and Ace guarding it for sure.
